Do you have a track record of improving quality, strengthening compliance, developing people, and delivering excellent outcomes within health, social care, rehabilitation, or complex care environments? If so, Brainkind would love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

Brainkind is seeking an experienced and improvement-focused Peripatetic Service Manager to support services across the South of England. This is a highly visible and influential role, providing operational leadership and hands-on support to services during periods of transition, leadership absence, service development, quality improvement initiatives, and organisational change. Rather than being permanently based within one service, you'll work across a variety of specialist settings, partnering with local leadership teams to improve performance, strengthen culture, enhance quality standards, and ensure the people we support receive the very best care and rehabilitation outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, relationship-building, and making a measurable difference.

Why Join Brainkind?

Brainkind is one of the UK's leading charities supporting people with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions. Through specialist assessment, rehabilitation, and care services, we help individuals rebuild independence, confidence, and quality of life following life-changing injuries and illnesses. As a Peripatetic Service Manager, you'll have the opportunity to influence multiple services, support talented teams, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and management support across services throughout the South of England.
  • Support services during management vacancies, organisational change, and periods of transition.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions that enhance service quality and performance.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers and leadership teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding responsibilities, and organisational governance requirements.
  • Monitor and improve quality standards, service performance, and regulatory outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to support service development initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and team development activities.
  • Lead on action plans following audits, inspections, incidents, or performance reviews.
  • Promote a positive, person-centred culture focused on rehabilitation, recovery, and outcomes.

About You

We're looking for an experienced operational leader who combines strong people skills with a passion for service improvement. You'll be confident stepping into new environments, building credibility quickly, supporting teams through challenges, and driving meaningful change. You will ideally have:

  • A UK registered Clinician (NMC or HCPC registered)
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Experience within health care, social care, rehabilitation, neurological services, complex care, or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, quality standards, safeguarding, and governance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience improving service performance and quality outcomes.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the South of England as required.

What You'll Gain

  • The opportunity to make a genuine impact across multiple specialist services.
  • A varied and rewarding leadership role where no two days are the same.
  • The chance to work alongside experienced clinical and operational professionals.
  • A supportive organisation committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • The opportunity to help transform lives through specialist rehabilitation and care.
