Job Description

Support Worker Cramlington Salary: £12.75 per hour with an additional £1 per hour for weekends and Bank Holidays. Hours: Flexible working hours available.

Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals utilize expert neurorehabilitation to support individuals in regaining lost skills. We serve people with various brain injuries caused by trauma, illness, substance abuse, and more, helping them recover and achieve personal goals.

Our employees are passionate and work with a strong team spirit. You will support physically disabled adults with complex needs at a purpose-built unit with excellent community access. Your role involves enabling individuals to meet their needs, gain skills, and build confidence to live independently or return home. Activities may include community outings such as swimming, cinema, sports events, and concerts, tailored to individual interests. You will share in their journey as they overcome hurdles, reach milestones, and achieve their goals. Your work can make a significant difference and inspire those around you.

The Role

This position is based at Jane Percy House, a 25-bed purpose-built unit in Cramlington, Northumberland, providing care and support to people with physical disabilities and complex needs. Facilities include a sensory room and garden. Training will be provided to support personalized care, following individual support plans aligned with each person\’s needs and aspirations. The role offers great job satisfaction as you help individuals increase their independence and live fulfilling lives.

About You

No specific experience is required. We value your personality and values. We will train you to become a competent rehabilitation support worker if you:

  • Have genuine empathy, positivity, patience, and resilience to support residents through rehabilitation
  • Enjoy teamwork and take pride in your work
  • Possess excellent face-to-face communication skills and a good standard of literacy
  • Have good time management skills and can prioritize tasks
