Salary: up to £14.04 per hour
Main Purpose: The purpose of this position is to manage the maintenance and upkeep of the site in accordance with published policies and required standards. To ensure the smooth operation of all building and site services. There will also be a requirement to provide transport services for the service users to and from various off-site day centres, colleges, trips out etc, as and when necessary. It is a requirement of the company that a professional and sympathetic attitude is presented at all times that reflects the company’s standards, aims and principles.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To conduct routine maintenance and monitoring checks as per the attached Estates checklists at differing periods.
- To undertake minor refurbishment and redecoration to areas of the service as requested. This will not include major refurbishments or repositioning works.
- To ensure that the security features of the service are maintained, including perimeter fencing, lighting, CCTV and other features where fitted.
- To supervise all contractors entering and working on site.
- To authorise the completion of the contractor’s work and keep records of all activities.
- To ensure that all garden furniture is regularly inspected visually for safety, stored securely and if unsafe, withdrawn from use until repaired or replaced.
- To carry out basic repairs internally and externally as stated on the attached list.
- To carry out regular visual inspections of all plant, fixtures and fittings, reporting any concerns to the Service Manager for repair as necessary.
- To become and remain familiar with all building and utilities within the service, reporting faults when identified.
- To maintain accurate and accessible documentation and logs for all activities.
- To operate heating plant in accordance with instructions.
- To undertake duties in accordance with the services fire plan.
Other Responsibilities:
Vehicles:
- To maintain company vehicles based at the service, ensuring they are roadworthy and clean. This will include but not limited to weekly checks of oil, fuel levels, washer bottle levels and tyre pressures.
- To ensure vehicle documentation is current – to include MOT, road tax, vehicle mileage sheets and that current documentation is available.
- For minibuses or vehicles with tail lifts and wheelchair clamps are serviced as required and documentation stored and filed correctly.
- To drive company vehicles for staff, service users, supplies, collections and other authorised journeys.
About You:
- Full driving licence
- Aware/knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Knowledge of COSHH
- IT skills including the ability to open and send emails using Outlook, the ability to use Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate the internet
