Hours: 14 hrs per week during the weekends and occasional weekday

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. MAIN PURPOSE:
- To assist in the daily preparation of cooked nutritious meals for service users ensuring food is of a high quality.
- To ensure health, safety, environment and hygiene standards are achieved and maintained.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May be required to deputise in absence of Chef.
- To assist in the planning and preparation of a varied choice of menus, ensuring properly balanced and nutritious meals are provided, taking into account any special dietary requirements and service user preferences.
- To follow any dietary or food preparation guidelines as provided in service user care plans and guidance by health care professionals.
- To assist in ensuring that the storage, preparation and cooking of all food is carried out using the highest standards of hygiene.
- To assist the Chef in maintaining appropriate levels of stock and may be required to place orders of food when required.
- Ensure responsibilities with regards to Food Hygiene and preparation and Health and Safety requirements are followed and to inform the Chef of anything that does not meet required standards.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the service users, contributing to the creation of a homely and pleasant living environment for each service user.
ABOUT YOU:
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience of working in a kitchen environment.
- Awareness of COSHH requirements.
- A knowledge of portion, stock control and food cost control.
- Customer care skills.
