MAIN PURPOSE

Lead, develop and supervise a team of Rehabilitation Support Workers to support, guide and enable service users with brain injury in the performance of daily living functions and the development of personal skills and potential. To support with assessment and develop, plan, and implement individually tailored therapeutic programmes of care and rehabilitation.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for Team Seniors and Rehabilitation Support Workers
  • Ensure the team provide a high standard of care for all service users.
  • Contribute to the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the holistic assessment of service users care and support needs after admission to the service.
  • Act as key worker and advocate for designated service users; liaising closely with other key workers and professionals including report writing, assessments, and recording of information.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the progress and outcome of service user’s individual goals and objectives.
  • Provide individualised, evidence based holistic care and approach to service users and their carers.
  • Exercise sound clinical leadership by example and instruction.
  • Competently carry out clinical procedures and use appropriate clinical equipment within scope of practice seeking advice and further development when required.
  • Promote effective confidential communication with service users, relatives, families, carers and colleagues (including external personnel) providing information and support to assist decision-making and be willing to advocate on the service user’s behalf.
  • Ensure that the custody and administration of drugs is in accordance with both the statutory obligations and those in the service.
  • Assist where indicated in the acceptance and administration of service users detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Assist as appropriate in supporting a service user under a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard.
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept on all service users in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMC) Record Keeping – Guidance for nurses and Midwives and in line with company policy.

About You

  • An RMN/RNLD nursing qualification.
  • Proven experience of primary nurse teams; their development and function.
  • Knowledge or understanding of working within the Independent Healthcare sector.
  • Experience of writing reports and detailed assessments.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and oral and using a variety of media.
  • Demonstrate relevant understanding of the statutory requirements applicable to the service i.e. The Healthcare Commission.
  • IT skills including the ability to open and send emails using Outlook, the ability to use Microsoft office and the ability to navigate the internet.
  • Ability to deal positively with problems and difficult situations.
