Salary: £12.75 per hour (£13.75 per hour Weekends and Bank Holidays)

Hours: 28 hours per week

Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. We are looking for a Community Support Worker to work as part of an experienced team to deliver an exceptional service at our supported living service in Cleckheaton, BD19 4TU.

Main duties will include:

  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the service users, contributing to the creation of a homely and pleasant living environment for each service user.
  • Participate in the development of service user support plans, risk assessments and programmes, complete written records as necessary and in accordance with the guidelines provided.
  • Providing care and support for our service users when conducting daily tasks.
  • Provide personal care as and when required.
  • Creatively support our service users to reach their full potential, achieve their goals and live their best lives.
  • Accompany service users in activities and visits as and when required.

Skills/Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working within a care/support environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • A full UK driving licence and car is advantageous.
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Patience and resilience.
  • Flexibility and commitment.
