For over 40 years, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (BTFC) has been dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering everyone affected by a brain tumour while funding research and advocating for better outcomes. Our vision is to find the cause of and a cure for brain tumours while improving the quality of life for those affected.

We are seeking a part-time Digital Media Specialist to support our communications and marketing efforts across digital platforms. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about digital storytelling, accessibility, and audience engagement. You will work closely with our team to support social media, website content, email campaigns, and visual assets that advance our organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and maintain website content (WordPress) to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Optimize digital content for SEO and accessibility, ensuring best practices for reach, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Support graphic design and video editing to create visually compelling digital assets using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms, including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Assist in writing, designing, and distributing e-newsletters and email campaigns.
  • Assist with basic performance tracking and reporting as needed.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience or training in digital media, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Comfortable updating content in WordPress.
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and web accessibility standards (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and content scheduling tools (Hootsuite).
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong written communication skills and an eye for design.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Nice to Have:
  • Basic knowledge of HTML for web content or email formatting.
  • Experience in the nonprofit or public sector.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual.
