Director of Finance in Windsor

Our client is a fast growing medical technology company with international commercial revenues, regulated products and ambitious plans to scale. They are developing novel products designed to improve the diagnosis of serious health conditions.
They are looking for a hands-on Director of Finance to build on the financial capability and provide insight and controls needed for the next phase of the company's growth plan.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will combine strategic influence with operational ownership and help shape decisions across the business.
The role:
As Director of Finance, you will lead and develop the finance function while remaining close to the detail. You will own reporting, planning, controls, cash and working capital; provide clear insight to the board/leadership team; and support fundraising and strategic growth activity.
Key responsibilities
Lead and continuously improve the finance function across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls and day-to-day operations
Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, board packs and commentary on performance, risks and actions
Build robust budgets, multi-year forecasts, financial models, dashboards and KPI reporting
Strengthen oversight of cash flow, working capital, margins, revenue quality, overheads and spend
The Director of Finance will partner with commercial and operational teams to improve financial insight and decision-making
Lead or closely manage VAT, payroll oversight and R&D tax credit reporting and submissions
Support fundraising, due diligence, investor-facing analysis and wider strategic initiatives
Develop the finance team and foster accountability, precision and commercial thinking
What you'll bring:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with post-qualification experience in industry
Experience building or significantly improving a finance function
Board and management reporting skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clear commercial insight
Advanced budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling capability, including multi-year planning
Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively
A hands-on systems-oriented approach to controls, reporting, dashboards and process improvement
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with complexity, ambiguity and imperfect systems
Nice to have:
Worked in a high-growth, founder-led, start-up or scale-up business
Experience in manufacturing, product-based businesses, healthcare or medical technology a bonus
Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, international operations, stock control or R&D tax processes
