Our client is a market leader in consumer health products (medicinal, cosmetic and medical device) throughout the UK, Ireland and the Middle East. From their head office in Glasgow, they manufacture products to as many as 60 countries. They are looking to strengthen the QC team by adding a Quality Control Inspector to their operations. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the timely sampling, inspection, labelling, documentation and release of raw materials and packaging components in line with procedures, approved specifications, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and applicable quality standards. The role supports production efficiency, inspection readiness and continuous improvement within the Quality Control function. Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Inspect packaging components against approved artwork, specifications and quality requirements Sample and label raw materials, inspect deliveries and review containers against approved specifications Prepare, review and maintain documentation, including artwork, specifications and Quality Control records Manage retained samples for raw materials, contract goods and packaging components The Quality Control Inspector will complete inspection and documentation activities promptly, accurately and in line with GMP, hygiene, safety and housekeeping requirements Represent Quality Control at product, departmental or company meetings as required Support continuous improvement of Quality Control systems and processes. Maintain quality standards and assure compliance Support production through timely inspection and release activity Identify errors early to reduce downtime and improve efficiency Maintain inspection readiness across relevant activities and records Skills & Qualifications: Attention to detail with a quality-focused, right-first-time mindset Computer literate with good documentation practice Knowledge of current GMP and health and safety practices Experience in a GMP-compliant environment, preferably Life Sciences Experience of, or exposure to, regulatory audits (desirable not a deal breaker) HNC or equivalent is desirable, practical expertise also considered Driving license On offer is the opportunity to join a growing life science company, offering opportunities for development and a half day on Fridays!
