To carry out post-cast operations including removal of castings from moulds, cleaning, cutting, and preparation for further processing. The role involves operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall production workflow.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a Bobcat to knock out castings from moulds (training provided).
- Use external shotblast equipment to clean sand off castings.
- Operate bandsaw to remove risers from castings.
- Participate in cross-training for cut-off and fettling areas.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Work independently and manage tasks during lone working periods.
- Collaborate with team members when required to meet production targets.
- Valid forklift truck licence.
- Willingness to undergo training on Bobcat operation.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working alone and managing responsibilities independently.
- Previous experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with shotblasting and bandsaw operation.
- Industrial environment with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
- Use of PPE required (provided).
- Lone working may be required depending on operational needs.
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Holidays: 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays
