An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Paramedic to join a well-established Primary Care Home Visiting Service as a Lead Paramedic. This senior clinical leadership role combines hands-on patient care with team leadership, clinical supervision, service development, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a team of Paramedics delivering urgent and proactive care to patients within their own homes, helping to reduce avoidable hospital admissions and improve patient outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paramedic looking to progress into a leadership position within Primary Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership & Team Management
    • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to Home Visiting Paramedics and Coordinators.
    • Support complex clinical decision-making and patient management.
    • Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities for the wider team.
    • Lead clinical audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Support service delivery and ensure safe, effective patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborative working.
  • Clinical Practice
    • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in their own homes and community settings.
    • Deliver advanced clinical assessments and evidence-based treatment plans.
    • Provide continuity of care through appropriate follow-up and safety-netting.
    • Prescribe or recommend medications within scope of practice.
    • Support proactive care planning for patients with complex health needs.
    • Maintain accurate and high-quality clinical records.
  • Service Development & Governance
    • Support the implementation of clinical governance frameworks.
    • Contribute to service development, innovation, and transformation projects.
    • Assist with quality assurance, performance monitoring, and CQC readiness activities.
    • Promote best practice and continuous service improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Paramedic with HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience within Primary Care, Community, Urgent Care, or Emergency Care settings.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in complex clinical situations.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, leadership, mentoring, or line management.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement processes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Requirements

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) qualification or working towards ACP status.
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to advanced or community practice.
  • Experience working within Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
  • Experience supporting service transformation and innovation projects.
  • Understanding of integrated care models and population health management.
