Join Braeburn House as a Clinical Psychologist and become a valued member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.

In this rewarding role, you will take the lead on the psychological assessment, formulation, treatment and evaluation of a defined patient group, ensuring timely and effective interventions that support individual recovery goals.

Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute psychological expertise to care planning, risk assessment and decision-making processes, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

You will deliver focused psychological interventions, undertake specialist assessments using psychometric measures, and provide expert input at CPA reviews, offering guidance on treatment approaches, risk management and ongoing care needs.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and deliver therapeutic group programmes, evaluate their effectiveness and contribute to the continued enhancement of services through evidence-based practice.

As a member of the psychology team, you will support the development of Assistant colleagues through supervision, training and professional guidance, while contributing to staff education across the wider service.

You will play an active role in Clinical Governance, quality improvement initiatives, research and audit projects, helping to shape innovative approaches to care and service delivery.

Requirements

  • BPS recognised psychology degrees (essential)HCPC Registration (essential)
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
  • To be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division (desirable)
  • Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic or psychiatric setting (desirable)
  • Experience of working with clients with cognitive deficits (desirable)
  • Experience of providing psychological interventions (essential)
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (essential)
  • Developing, facilitating and evaluating group and individual evidence-based programmes (desirable)
  • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice (essential)
  • Ability to apply psychological knowledge to a rehabilitation setting (essential)

Where you will be working: Braeburn House is a purpose-built rehabilitation and recovery service for men who have a primary diagnosis of mental disorder.

The service is situated in the heart of Salford, Greater Manchester.
