We have a truly exciting opportunity for a Technical Product Manager to be part of an innovative team developing Brady's PowerDesk solution for the power and energy markets. Brady Technologies enables energy market participants to profit in new ways from the energy transition. We provide software solutions to support above market returns from trading, manage power operations, manage complex risks in evolving and volatile markets, impacted by increased decentralisation, diversity of asset types, the drive for carbonisation, and ongoing regulatory change.
Our customers include globally renowned utilities, independent power producers, renewable asset developers, energy and multi commodity trading firms, oil & gas companies, hedge funds and other financial institutions, as well as state power grid operators.
The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for driving the execution and evolution of PowerDesk Edge, working closely with the Product Lead to deliver against the broader product strategy. You will play a key role in shaping product capabilities, technical design decisions, and delivery outcomes, ensuring the platform meets the needs of traders and quants operating in fast paced power markets.
Key Accountabilities
- Define and own the product roadmap, aligning business strategy, customer needs, and market opportunities.
- Own the end to end delivery of product features and improvements.
- Work closely with engineers to break down requirements into practical, implementable solutions.
- Write clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide day to day clarity and direction within the team, quickly resolving ambiguity and unblocking delivery.
- Work closely with the data science capability and quantitative users to shape and improve the Python based algorithm development experience, support effective workflows for backtesting, simulation, and live trading.
- Act as a hands on bridge between technical and non technical perspectives, ensuring shared understanding without relying on heavy process or documentation.
- Engage directly with traders and quants to understand user workflows and priorities.
- Collaborate on cloud architecture and SaaS delivery (Azure based).
- Ensure strong performance, scalability, and reliability across the platform.
- Provide input into API design, data models, and system architecture.
- Build a culture of excellence and collaboration as part of a team.
- Actively participate in the Scrum team to deliver the product in an agile way by providing user acceptance and compliance with acceptance criteria set for the feature.
Competencies Skills:
- Strong Python proficiency (comfortable reading and writing production level code).
- Experienced delivering complex, technical or data driven software products.
- Experience working closely with engineers on SaaS products.
- Experience in algorithmic trading, financial markets, or energy trading.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable product decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Great attention to detail with ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of power markets, particularly short term or intraday markets desirable.
- Familiarity with backtesting frameworks, time series data systems, real time or low latency systems.
- Understanding of software architecture and distributed system design.
- Knowledge of data pipelines, time series data, and performance considerations.
- Aware of trading system requirements such as latency, resilience, and risk controls.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
