We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of our next-generation printer products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware and software product development, with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept to mass production. This role requires exceptional communication and organisational skills to drive project success while balancing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with cross-functional project teams, including engineering (mechanical, electrical, firmware, software), industrial design, quality assurance, supply chain, marketing, and manufacturing.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Monitor progress against the plan and proactively identify and mitigate risk.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all project-related communication.
- Regularly report project status, key milestones, and risks to management and other stakeholders.
- Work with product management and engineering teams to define and manage project scope and technical requirements.
- Ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Manage and resolve project issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors for key components, manufacturing, and other services.
- Ensure deliverables meet specifications and timelines.
- Manage the project budget, track expenditures, and ensure the project is delivered within financial constraints.
- Oversee the smooth transition from development to mass production, working closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure a successful product launch.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years managing hardware and software product development projects.
- Demonstrated experience in a product development environment, preferably with consumer electronics, mechatronics, or similar complex systems.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, Smartsheet).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the development of printers, scanners, or other imaging devices.
- Knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes for consumer electronics.
- Experience working with international and distributed teams.
- Familiarity with firmware, embedded systems, and mechanical engineering principles.
