Renewable Energy Developer & IPP with strong management and significant backing seeks an Energy Markets and Trading Manager for a growing portfolio. A pipeline of 6GW of projects across BESS, wind and solar with more than 600MW.
Your new company:
Backed by an investment manager, they are a specialist clean energy Developer & IPP who have a number of large-scale BESS and wind assets in VIC with several gigawatts of power projects in the pipeline. This company is undergoing a period of enormous growth with plans to double their team in the next 6 months and significantly scale their platform.
Your new role:
Support our client’s participation in the NEM by managing the daily trading activities of its operational assets. You will manage the performance and compliance of an outsourced provider of 24/7 trading and settlement services, oversee Power Purchase Agreements and liaise with offtake counterparties, analyse market data, and contribute to the development of trading strategies. The role will manage a function and not a team.
Who you are:
Strong understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM), wholesale pricing, settlements, and risk exposures from an energy trading, electricity markets, or risk management environment. You have experience managing outsourced providers or service agreements and strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience with renewable and storage asset operations and trading characteristics (e.g., intermittency, FCAS, hybrid strategies) and familiarity with AEMO systems, data sources, and APIs are all desirable.
