Stokes Medical Group is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Full‐Time Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and supportive primary care team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA who is passionate about delivering high‐quality patient care within a busy GP practice environment. The successful candidate will support the clinical team in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to our patients.
Main Duties
- Phlebotomy and venepuncture clinics.
- Wound care and dressings.
- Performing ECGs.
- Delivering Smoking Cessation Clinics.
- Completing NHS Health Checks.
- Supporting Long Term Condition annual reviews.
- Assisting with Minor Surgery procedures.
- Recording accurate clinical information within patient records.
- Maintaining infection prevention and control standards.
- Stock management and clinical room preparation.
Person Specification
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant within primary care or a healthcare setting.
- Smoking cessation training.
- Confidence in phlebotomy and clinical observations.
- Experience assisting with minor surgery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience supporting NHS Health Checks.
- Organised, reliable and patient‐focused approach.
- Experience in long‐term condition monitoring.
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience using clinical systems within primary care.
- Experience undertaking ECGs.
