We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Trainee Laboratory Analyst. Bradley Environmental Consultants are looking for enthusiastic and loyal individuals to join our team in Ossett. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be taught to identify asbestos in samples of building material within our busy UKAS accredited laboratory. The work is safe and requires patience, concentration and the use of a microscope. Full training will be given leading to a nationally recognised qualification. This role also requires a commitment to study in order to understand the legislative and quality requirements to pass a written exam, as well as gaining laboratory skills needed to pass a practical exam.
Person Specification
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English
- Demonstrable administrative experience
- Looking for a long term career with the company (candidates looking for temporary work and previous applicants need not apply)
- Good eyesight with or without glasses and good colour vision is required
- A laboratory or scientific background and experience of using a microscope would be an advantage but not essential
- Computer literate with Microsoft 360 and Excel experience and able to adapt to specific online systems
- Good attention to detail, organised and able to interpret technical data
What We Can Offer You
- 20 hours of work per week Monday to Friday from 1pm until 5pm
- A training rate of £12.30 per hour rising to £13.25 once qualified and authorised and then increasing to £13.69 once achieving the Laboratory Key Performance Indicator
- Company paid healthcare (long service award applies at 3 and 5 years)
- A company pension, into which we contribute 3% of qualifying earnings
- 22 days of annual leave (long service award applies at 3 and 5 years)
- An additional day of annual leave for your birthday, or the closest working day to your birthday
- Paid, statutory, bank holidays (8)
- Contractual sick pay
