About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and growing financial services organisation seeking an Investment Specialist to join its expanding investment team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in investments or wealth management who is looking to work closely with senior investment professionals while developing their technical knowledge and industry expertise. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support across portfolio management, investment research, client reporting, compliance, governance and operational activities, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of discretionary investment services.
The Role
Working alongside the Investment Director and wider investment team, you'll play an integral role in supporting investment operations, maintaining high standards of governance and delivering an excellent client experience. This is a varied position offering exposure to portfolio management, investment research, committee participation, performance reporting and regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing management and rebalancing of client investment portfolios
- Assist with investment research, fund analysis and portfolio recommendations
- Prepare investment performance reports, presentations and client communications
- Produce and distribute regular client reporting accurately and on time
- Respond to investment-related queries from internal stakeholders and clients
- Support compliance activities and ensure investment processes meet regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate client records, investment documentation and management information
- Assist with governance processes, investment committee preparation and audit activity
- Produce investment bulletins, fund factsheets and quarterly performance updates
- Carry out financial modelling and investment analysis using industry software
- Support platform research and investment proposition development
- Assist with fund switching and investment administration
- Work collaboratively across the business to ensure investment information remains accurate and up to date
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within financial services, ideally in an investment, wealth management or discretionary fund management environment
- Strong analytical and research skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach with strong organisational and time management abilities
- The ability to work independently while building effective relationships across the business
- Experience using financial software and investment platforms would be advantageous
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline is desirable. Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or currently working towards a relevant Level 4 qualification) would be advantageous. A commitment to ongoing professional development and CPD.
