Summary:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day engineering support of Systems and Hardware for Bradford Swissport. Forming the EU arm of the Global IT Group and collaborating across teams and timezones. Duties range from maintenance, new user setups or hardware troubleshooting to long-term strategic innovation and supporting global IT initiatives. Working in collaboration with multiple departments across a range of projects the IT Support Specialist will need to be an adept communicator, capable of managing their time and priorities against competing deadlines.
Position Description:
Technical Skills
- Manage user identities (Active Directory & Azure Active Directory)
- Support Global IT Team in Systems Administration Activities (Windows 2019/2022, Ubuntu LTS)
- Fundamental knowledge of networking devices, topologies, and protocols
- Microsoft Office 365 Cloud (Add / Move / Change & Support)
- Support Global IT Risk Management & Cybersecurity Program
- Support users with all company issued/assigned devices i.e. mobiles, desktops and laptops
- Install and maintain ancillary IT Equipment and Software i.e. AV equipment, CCTV Software/Hardware, Access control, Radios and Printers
- Source and commission role-specific equipment including workstations, office equipment and warehouse hardware
- Proficiency in IT Asset Management i.e. purchasing, warranty, issuance, maintenance and recovery
- Responsible for asset tracking and audits
- Manage IT Vendor relationships across UK contracts
- Responsible for network performance, printing, and technical resources, including protection against viruses and other threats
- Responsible for Access Control and Monitoring of Network Resources
- First point of Contact for IT Systems Issues
Supporting Skills
- Ability to collaborate with the Global IT Team, our Business Partners and Customers
- Lead the identification, training, and development of warehouse IT Superusers
- Lead IT improvement projects across local site
- Support and enable Large/Complex IT Innovation projects across the Global IT infrastructure
- Propose and build business cases for IT Improvements and Modernisation opportunities (i.e. paperless)
- Critical Response and Issue Resolution for Emergency IT Failures
- Hyper-Effective Communicator
- Updating task status in a timely manner
- Deliver presentations at a Senior Level
- Responsible for reporting on the day-to-day and monthly performance metrics of Local IT
- Act as a supporting resource across all departments to provide knowledge, guidance and insight on how IT systems are integrated
- Deliver training on new hardware and software, and the associated Processes
- Produce Documents and Videos which communicate Technical Concepts at an appropriate level for non-tech savvy individuals
Required Experience:
5+ years working in a similar role with similar job responsibilities
Desired Qualifications:
- Any networking related qualification (CCNA or NSE4)
- Cloud Familiarity (Microsoft & AWS)
- Experience with ISO 27001 environments and/or Cybersecurity programs
