We are supporting a well-established and growing business in the Stoke-on-Trent area with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant. This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance function within a stable organisation, offering a varied role and the chance to develop your experience across multiple areas of accounts. This position would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in accuracy, and is confident managing their own workload.
Key Responsibilities in this Accounts Assistant role:
- Producing and managing sales invoices, statements, and credit control processes
- Processing purchase invoices and expenses, and assisting with supplier payments
- Carrying out bank reconciliations and allocating incoming payments
- Supporting cashflow monitoring and forecasting activities
- Acting as a point of contact for internal and external finance queries
- Assisting with month-end close tasks including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Maintaining accurate financial records using accounting systems
- Supporting audit requirements and contributing to process improvements
About You – Accounts Assistant Experience:
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or bookkeeping role
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Experience using accounting software and Excel
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
