We are supporting one of our clients based in Southend-On-Sea, who are a manufacturing company producing bespoke seating products for the cinema sector, delivering to clients around the world. They are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to manage month-end processes, financial reporting, working capital, and project finances. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and other departments to ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and reviewing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Authorising and approving payment runs
- Managing weekly cash flow
- Managing the company payroll process
- Managing intercompany reconciliations across group companies
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Overseeing and finalising bank reconciliations
- Building close working relationships with the project team to ensure robust financial controls are in place
- Supervising the project costing review tracker and fortnightly meetings to ensure company margins are achieved on each project
- Producing regular cost reports for larger projects and conducting project variance analysis upon completion
- Conducting departmental margin analysis based on monthly and year-to-date results
- Maintaining the finance and sales tracker to ensure information is accurate and up to date for financial forecasting
- Ensuring all projects have appropriate contracts in place
- Managing the company’s taxation affairs, including quarterly VAT returns across the group
- Preparing and presenting annual budgets
- Preparing and presenting quarterly forecasts
- Managing one team member in relation to day-to-day activities
