Salary and Hours: Band 4 SCP 3 - Actual Salary £12,679 per annum. 20 hours per week (3pm-7pm, Monday-Friday) during term time plus three weeks on break.

Purpose of Role: To ensure that allocated areas are maintained in a clean and organised state to provide a clean environment for the Academy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean all general and specified areas to the required standard, following Academy quality standards.
  • Maintain equipment and materials hygienically, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Keep cleaning cupboards clean and tidy.
  • Replace broken or damaged equipment in accordance with procedure.
  • Co-operate with colleagues and customers while carrying out tasks.
  • Carry out ad-hoc requests from the Premises Manager, Cleaning Supervisor or Business Manager.
  • Report cleaning difficulties to the Premises Manager or Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all Academy policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, students, parents and data.
  • Participate in all appropriate training.
  • Support and uphold the Academy's equal-rights policies and practices.
  • Contribute to the Academy's ethos, values and professional culture.
  • Attend relevant meetings as required.
  • Undertake other duties used for which the post is defined, where appropriate.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good level of general education.
  • Previous professional cleaning experience.
  • Manual Handling, COSHH and Working at Heights training.
  • Correct use of materials and equipment; ability to understand oral instructions; day-to-day decision making on cleaning provision.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations; basic stock control.
  • Willingness to support the Christian ethos of the Academy; ability to remain calm under pressure; flexible, dependable and loyal; ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Basic written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to perform all duties, with reasonable adjustments as required by the Equality Act 2010.
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in a school environment or with carpet cleaning.
  • Additional training or qualifications in cleaning or health and safety.
