HCPH Licensing Officer

Band 7: £25,979 pa - £28,770 pa (Pro rata for Part Time Posts)

1 x 37 hours per week

Based at Shearbridge Depot, BD7 1PU, with hybrid working when established in the role.

You will be based at Shearbridge Depot, providing a vital service to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire licensed trade. You will administer HC/PH licence applications in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions and the Council’s policies and procedures.

You will:

  • Have excellent customer service skills, maintaining a polite and professional manner at all times.
  • Have the ability to communicate sometimes complex matters in a way that is easily understood, both verbally & written & electronic means.
  • Be able to check documents and applications against established guidelines and procedures.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Interrogate and maintain a range of information systems and databases, completing enquiries as appropriate and in line with service user guidelines and procedures.
  • Be competent in a wide range of IT packages relating to the area of work, including management information.
  • Interpret licensing legislation & policy in a fair & proportionate manner.
