An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for a General Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Fagley Primary School.

General Kitchen Assistant position duties include:

  • Food preparation
  • The serving of hospitality meals
  • Other duties as directed by the Manager

The post may require work in other Bradford council buildings. Successful candidates will be supported through an induction training programme and will have opportunities to progress within the organisation and other benefits which you would expect from a Local Authority.

Permanent and term time unless stated. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

From October 2016, Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking. This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants and council employees. This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen and understand Basic English as a minimum.
