Are you ready to make a positive difference for Children in Bradford? We are looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking Service Manager for Children’s Joint Commissioning (1.0 FTE). This role will take a lead on commissioning of services for children in care and care leavers. The post holder will manage a team to deliver our sufficiency strategy and develop our market of fostering, leaving care and children’s home providers for the Bradford District. This is your chance to commission services that truly matter for the children and young people of Bradford.

The role is at the heart of the People Commissioning Service, building relationships and working closely with senior leaders, providers and partner organisations so that we can ensure people can access the services they need at the right time. Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the commissioning of a comprehensive range of high quality, value for money, responsible and efficient services within allocated resources.
  • Working in partnership with all stakeholders including people who use services and carers, commissioner and provider colleagues, to plan and develop strategy and services that meet the needs of the population.
  • Delivering intelligence and evidence-based commissioning.
  • Ensuring that the differing needs of the populations and the different objectives and priorities, approach and culture of the NHS and of the Local Authority are taken proper account of and reflected in the design, implementation and outcomes of service improvement projects.
  • Ensuring effective use of resources and budget management for the areas under the control of the post.
  • Supporting the development of the market of care providers and wider community support.
  • Analysing, interpreting and presenting data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making.
About You

You will bring strong operational leadership skills and a clear understanding of commissioning. You will have:

  • Significant experience in commissioning practices and the application of the commissioning cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislative, regulatory and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Experience of leading and supporting staff, including performance management and professional development.
  • A clear commitment to co-production, equality, diversity and continuous improvement.
