We work with older people (over 64) within the department of Adult Social Care and are looking to appoint three full‑time Social Workers to support the South and Keighley/Airedale areas. Bradford South encompasses several communities, including Tong, Queensbury, Great Horton, Wyke, Royds and Wibsey. The Keighley and Airedale team provides support to communities within Oakworth, Howarth, Braithwaite, Silsden, Addingham and Ilkley.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and support services to older adults who may need assistance to maintain their independence.
  • Work closely with individuals, families, healthcare professionals and community organisations to assess needs, arrange appropriate services and safeguard vulnerable adults.
  • Promote dignity and choice and support independence through person‑centred care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a BSc/BA MA/MSc (Hons) Social Work degree or an equivalent qualification and a current Social Work England registration.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Committed to strengths‑based practice and demonstrates person‑centred thinking.
  • Has excellent communication, interpersonal and report‑writing skills.
  • Can manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands.
  • Suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Social Workers.
