We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT North). You will be joining us at an exciting time as we strengthen and expand our social work leadership within mental health services, shaping high‑quality, community‑based support across the district. This is a Local Authority role, based within an integrated Community Mental Health Team, working in close partnership with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader with a strong background in mental health, including those with Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) experience or a commitment to supporting and developing AMHP practice within teams. Qualified AMHPs will receive an additional £2,000 market supplement, with a salary range of £51,356 – £54,495.

As a Team Manager, you will provide operational and professional leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of person‑centred care. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the team delivers effectively against Local Authority statutory responsibilities and duties, maintaining high standards of practice across all service areas.

You will play a key role in supporting practitioners to deliver strengths‑based practice, promoting independence, and ensuring that people are supported within their local neighbourhoods and communities wherever possible. You will also oversee a strong emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and recognising the vital role of carers.

You will lead a team serving a diverse population, working within an integrated health and social care model in partnership with Bradford Mental Health Trust. This approach brings together Local Authority and NHS expertise to deliver coordinated, high‑quality support. You will champion this partnership model, ensuring that statutory social care duties are effectively delivered within the integrated setting, and that individuals receive timely interventions close to home.

We are looking for a leader with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills who can build effective working relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, carers, and the people who use our services. You will be responsible for managing performance, overseeing risk, and ensuring staff are supported to confidently assess need and promote safe, positive risk‑enablement.

In this role, you will oversee services supporting people with complex mental health needs requiring coordinated input from health, social care, and voluntary sector partners. You will ensure the team fulfils its statutory duties under the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and related legislation, maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding, prevention, early intervention, and upholding people’s rights.

You will promote a culture of person‑centred, strengths‑based, and community‑embedded practice, ensuring individuals can maintain independence and connection within their communities. You will have oversight of Local Authority statutory functions, including Care Act assessments, eligibility decisions, safeguarding under Section 42, and ensuring carers receive appropriate assessment and support.

A strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks is essential, alongside experience of supervising staff, managing complex casework, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements in an integrated service context.

We offer a supportive working environment with flexible working arrangements and access to a wide range of continuous professional development opportunities. You will receive regular reflective supervision, leadership support, and an annual appraisal to support your ongoing development as a manager and leader.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process to support your application, please let us know, and we will work with you to meet your needs.
