Working Pattern: Monday to Friday between 3pm and 8pm, plus alternate Saturdays (Saturday hours paid at time-and-a-half)
Location: Hybrid working with regular community outreach across the Bradford District

SkillsHouse, Bradford Council's all-age careers and employability service, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Engagement Adviser to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support local residents on their journey towards employment, training, and career progression. As one of the first points of contact for our service, you will play a crucial role in ensuring individuals receive the right support at the right time.
About the role
As an Engagement Adviser, you will be the welcoming face and voice of SkillsHouse, connecting with residents through telephone, email, and community outreach activities. This role includes regular evening working and alternate Saturdays to ensure our services remain accessible to residents who may not be available during traditional office hours. A key element of the Engagement Adviser role is to track and monitor vulnerable groups and NEET young people.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a first point of contact for Bradford residents seeking careers, skills, training, and employment support.
- Managing referrals and enquiries efficiently, ensuring individuals are linked to the most appropriate support service.
- Building trusted relationships with residents and stakeholders across the district.
- Delivering outreach activities within localities to raise awareness of SkillsHouse services.
- Providing a professional, welcoming and person-centred experience for all service users.
- Working collaboratively with SkillsHouse partners to support positive outcomes for residents.
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible to all, particularly those facing barriers to employment.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting continuous service improvement.
