West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) administers the Local Government Pension Scheme for over 850 employers across the UK and is valued at over £19bn. The Fund also manages the Firefighters Pension Schemes for twenty-four Fire Authorities and works with a shared service partnership with Lincolnshire Pension Fund and several London Boroughs.

We have two vacancies for Senior Pensions Officers within our Fire administration teams.

Responsibilities
  • Administer the LGPS and/or Fire Pension Scheme, including applying pension legislation and calculating benefits.
  • Maintain strong numeracy skills and attention to detail while exercising good judgment.
  • Manage own workloads with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and adopt a positive, sympathetic customer‑care approach.
  • Supervise and support Pensions Officers, providing training and assistance.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience of pension scheme and/or payroll administration.
  • Experience of training, supervising and assisting staff.
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Qualified in Pensions Administration (CPA) or another recognised professional pensions/payroll qualification (APSA, IPPM, PMI or CIPP), or willingness to study for one.
