Bradford Music & Arts Service is a highly successful service and the lead organisation for the West Yorkshire Music Hub. It provides wide-ranging music opportunities for children and young people who live or go to school in the Bradford MDC area. The service works in close partnership with schools and the local community and a number of delivery organisations, regional and national partners to ensure that a broad range of high-quality music provision is available, accessible and affordable to all children and young people.

We are excited to be able to extend our team of casual Percussion teachers. Working within a thriving team of instrumental/vocal music teachers, the successful applicants will teach at a high standard in every area of Whole Class Instrumental Learning, individual and small groups instrumental lessons and direct ensembles within school settings and at our Music Centres in a range of locations across the Bradford District.

Bradford Music & Arts Service offers robust induction and staff support, in-service training and career progression and is committed to delivering inclusive practice to ensure all children can access both a music education and a range of musical opportunities that meet their needs.

Main Responsibilities of Post:
  • Teach pupils both in groups and individually.
  • Tutor and direct choirs or ensembles in schools and at music centres.
  • Participate in the provision of concerts and performances.
  • Actively motivate pupils.
  • Seek out and apply innovations in instrumental and/or vocal teaching.
  • Work as part of a team of professional teachers.
  • Monitor and assess pupils and provide constructive feedback and maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of pupils.
  • Deliver whole class instrumental and continuation schemes.
  • Work within the safeguarding framework as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Undertake multi-agency working and electronic information sharing to support integrated working ensuring usage of digital technology effectively.
  • Work independently and as part of a team of specialist instrumental/vocal teachers.
  • Provide advice and support to teachers, parents, carers and schools.
  • Participate in team and service meetings.
  • Share good practice and training.
  • Determine when to enter pupils for examinations, Music Medals, ABRSM, or alternative examination board.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service and a current driving licence with access to own transport is required for all posts.
