Position: Night Shifts – 38 hours per week – Salary: £44,525.00 – Shift Pattern: 22:00 – 06:15 (Mon – Thurs), then 18:30 on Friday – 02:00 on Saturday – All posts are based in the Fleet Workshop at Shearbridge Depot, Bradford, BD7 1PU.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out the maintenance and repair of a range of vehicles, machines and plant equipment to the required quality standards in an efficient, safe, and cost‑effective manner.
- Work within the depot/workshop and undertake site and roadside repairs within the BMDC area in all weathers.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service, acting with courtesy and professionalism at all times.
- Respond flexibly to changing priorities and service deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Apprentice trained motor vehicle mechanic to City & Guilds 380/383 Level 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training.
- Holding a current LGV Class C or C & E driving licence, or willing to work towards it.
- Literate and numerate to a level that enables the duties listed above.
- Physically fit to perform walking, kneeling, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying.
- Reliable, cooperative, flexible and able to react to fast‑changing circumstances.
- Well‑developed customer service skills.
