Overview

Join a team that keeps Bradford running. We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focused Workshop Receptionist to join our experienced and close-knit workshop team at Shearbridge Depot. Bradford council operates one of West Yorkshire’s largest and most diverse local authority fleet operations, maintaining circa 1,700 vehicles, which is increasing, including specialist plant equipment that deliver essential frontline services across the district every day. From refuse collection vehicles and winter maintenance machinery to operational support vehicles and specialist plant machinery. Our fleet workshop plays a vital role in keeping the city running safely, efficiently and reliably. We’re looking for someone who has experience of working in a busy reception or workshop environment, is competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other computerised systems, has excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, has good administrative and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy, can work safely, efficiently and professionally under pressure, works well as part of a team and supports colleagues, and is reliable, adaptable and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and processing vehicle maintenance and repair bookings via telephone and email.
  • Creating job sheets and maintaining accurate records.
  • Creating financial orders under the supervision of the workshop reception engineers/supervisors.
  • Liaising with customers, drivers, contractors and council services regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Supporting workshop reception engineers and supervisors with day-to-day administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a busy reception or workshop environment.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other computerised systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good administrative and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently and professionally under pressure.
  • Team player who works well as part of a team and supports colleagues.
  • Reliable, adaptable and motivated.
