Role Overview
Maternity Circle Facilitator – Family Action Perinatal Support Service, Bradford.
Location: Bradford. Hours: 16.8–22.2 hours per week (part‑time, equivalent to 3 days). Contract: Temporary until the end of March 2027, subject to funding. The post may become permanent once further funding is secured.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the bi‑weekly Maternity Circle sessions in two community venues, including setting up provision, delivering content, and planning future sessions.
- Act as the friendly, welcoming presence in the circles, building rapport with families and aiming to meet their needs.
- Collect, record and reflect on data, maintain reflective logs and create quarterly case studies.
- Consult with families to determine what they want from the circles, adapting content and future sessions accordingly.
- Liaise with professionals and community workers across the maternity system and the local area to plan content delivery and effectively signpost or refer families to other services.
Required Skills & Experience
- Personal experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting, or having supported other parents in the first 1001 days of a baby’s life.
- Experience running groups or sessions or supporting families and communities.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work autonomously, including forward planning for future circle sessions.
- Strong networking and engagement skills, friendly and welcoming in leading circle sessions, and ability to build connections with professionals and community workers.
- Willingness to undergo standard Disclosure and Barring Service checks (subject to satisfactory background check).
