Programme Lead – Healthy Activities

Contracted hours - 21 Hours per week

Working days – Flexible working including occasional evenings/weekends

Hybrid working across the AUKBD Community Hubs and community settings across Bradford District

5 weeks holiday, plus Bank Holidays (Pro Rata)

The focus is on enabling, empowering and supporting them to remain independent, active and engaged members of their communities, both receiving and providing the support and activities they identify that they need and which are their chosen priorities.

We are looking for someone to join our team to develop and lead on an exciting new project and would love to hear from people who are passionate about supporting older people to live their best possible life.

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and day-to-day coordination of AUKBD’s Healthy Activity Programmes with a focus on the Communities in Motion programme.
  • Recruit, induct, train, and support volunteers and sessional staff.
  • Oversee participant registration, attendance monitoring, and data collection using Charity Log.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local partners including GP practices, social prescribing teams, leisure providers, community organisations, and local authority services.
  • Line management of Programme Assistant.

This is an interesting and varied position for someone who has a passion for leading and establishing a brand new Community based project, providing physical activity sessions for older people. Strong administration, leadership and communication skills are required for the role, together with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Please note that this role is subject to a DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for through Age UK Bradford District.

Salary £30,000 FTE per annum, actual £17,027 per annum (based on 21 hours per week)

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays pro rata

Training will take place at our Wrose Community Hubs and the successful candidate will need to be flexible with working days through induction period.
