Send Senior Officer
The SEND Integrated Assessment Team are responsible for the Local Authorities statutory functions in respect of Education, Health and Care Assessment and reviews.
We are looking for a SEND Senior Officer to join our dedicated team.
This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with parents in relation to individual pupil cases, to offer a listening ear, showing empathy and support at all times; to liaise with the Parent Partnership Service and the local Mediation Service where necessary to support a solution focused approach to resolving casework.
- Work collaboratively with a range of professional colleagues within Bradford Council, and Casework Officers across the 0-25 Integrated Assessment Team as well as partners from other agencies such as health and social care to ensure that EHCP assessments and annual reviews are fully compliant.
- Prepare individual cases and present them as the representative of Bradford Council at the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal undertaking training where necessary.
- Line manage a team of SEND Casework Officers and Annual Review Officers.
- An Enhanced Disclosure check with Barred List will be undertaken for this post.
