We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Apprenticeships and Business Development department as a Property Maintenance Skills Coach/Assessor.
The Property Maintenance Skills Coach is responsible for supporting and guiding apprentices through the identified standard and assessing their vocational knowledge and competence against national standards, ensuring the apprentice understands the technical knowledge and skills needed to undertake their job role.
This is a part‑time role, working 18.5 hours per week, with potential for a market supplement or uplift based on experience and skills.
Responsibilities
- Undertake timely assessment of apprentices to the national standards and record all assessment decisions to meet awarding body and professional body requirements.
- Manage a caseload of apprentices, setting SMART targets to ensure timely progress and achievement of all required components.
- Conduct timely workplace observations and upload related data into the apprentice management system for accurate progression tracking.
- Facilitate regular master classes.
- Plan and agree on‑the‑job (OTJ) requirements with employer and monitor completion to meet ESFA requirements.
- Plan and complete Technical Learning Activity (TLA) visits every 4–6 weeks to meet ESFA requirements.
- Support and monitor apprentices who require ALN/ALS where identified and required.
- Plan and conduct 12 weekly reviews with apprentice and employer covering progress towards required knowledge, skills, behaviors, personal development, welfare and functional skills.

Education & Training
- GCSE 4–9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or the ability to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, with an agreed timescale to achieve the qualification if appointed.

- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a discipline relevant to Property Maintenance.
- Assessor Award or working towards one.
Experience
- Current knowledge and relevant occupational experience in Property Maintenance assessment.
- Proven experience of accurately and timely assessing in the workplace or classroom.
- Familiarity with apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessment processes.
