We have an excellent opportunity to join our exceptional Construction department as a Brickwork Technician to support the delivery of our Brickwork qualifications and assist in providing an outstanding student experience. As a Brickwork Technician you will support students in the workshop to develop their vocational skills and ensure that the teaching staff you are working with have the resources and support needed to deliver outstanding lessons. Term time only role, working 40 weeks per year, 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Support students in the workshop to develop their vocational skills.
- Ensure that teachers have the resources and support needed to deliver outstanding lessons.
- Assist the management team and teaching colleagues in delivering high learning value, financially efficient programmes, including physical resource and budget management, and lead on innovation and efficiency in learning delivery.
- Support the behaviour management of students in the workshop and across campus – ensuring health, safety, wellbeing and conduct is in line with college and departmental policies and ethos.
- Help students develop modern, safe working practices and behaviours – in both technical (vocational skills) and employability skills.
- Maintain professional appearance and inspection readiness of the specific locations you are responsible for.
- Proactively develop and promote close links with employer/industry partners, including suppliers.
- Support supervision and management of students on placements, offsite visits and related activities.
- Model expected behaviours, actively advocate for students, college values and departmental ethos, and promote positive behaviours in all students in Construction, including implementation and promotion of regulations, policies and procedures.

Education & Training
- GCSE 4–9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale.

- Minimum of level 2 vocational qualification in Brickwork.
Experience
