Team Manager – East Duty and Assessment Service (Secondment)
Grade PO6, salary £51,356 – £54,495, 37 hours per week, 9–12 month secondment covering maternity leave.
About the role
Responsible for managing a team of professional Social Workers and Community Resource Workers to deliver safe, effective support to children and families.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support a team of 6 social workers, a practice supervisor and a community resource worker.
- Provide reflective supervision and manage progression and performance issues.
- Monitor performance through audit, reflective group supervision and quality assurance.
- Undertake audit activity, disseminate learning and initiate practice development projects.
- Attend partner agency and service manager meetings.
- Implement and support change within the team, chair multi‑agency meetings and make decisions on safeguarding thresholds.
- Ensure delivery of high‑quality outcomes, drive continuous improvement and keep the needs of children at the centre.
Qualifications & experience
- Registered Social Worker with Social Work England, holding a DIPSW or equivalent qualification.
- At least four years of post‑qualifying experience.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills.
- Expertise in delivering quality outcomes for children and young people.
- Ability to build strong relationships with families, colleagues and partner agencies.
- Passionate about developing staff and embracing change.
- Knowledge of statutory and legal safeguarding requirements.
