Salary: PO6 - £51,356 - £54,495 per annum

Terms: Permanent, 37 hours per week.

Locality: Based in either the South or East of the Bradford District.

Bradford Children and Families Trust are looking for experienced, innovative and dedicated permanent Team Managers for the Family Help service to drive our services forward and to ensure that our promise to improve the lives of Children and Young People in Bradford becomes a reality. You will have a passion and drive to ensure children are at the heart of all we do. You will practice within a relational and restorative culture of continuous learning and reflective practice that inspires staff to give their best in their roles.

About us

Bradford Children and Families Trust was established in April 2023 to enhance the quality and delivery of Children’s Services across the Bradford district. Our purpose is clear and as we continue to grow and evolve, now is the perfect time to join us with our recent Ofsted report acknowledging ‘significant improvements’. Our senior leadership team is permanent and committed to providing stability and continuity within the organisation. We are looking for talented individuals to join our Family Help service to strengthen families and help shape the future of young lives. You’ll be part of a supportive network of professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children. Family Help is part of national reform work within the Families First Programme and seeks to enable change in the way that children and families are supported.

About The Role

You will work with and support families who need targeted and intense help. The role engages children and families with complex circumstances so that need can be identified early and addressed with whole family support and planning. The role is to manage a team that comprises of Senior Family Support Workers and Social Workers as well as colleagues from partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Social Workers, a Practice Supervisor and Senior Family Support Workers.
  • Supporting Senior Family Support Workers and Social Workers to help and support families while managing and reducing risk.
  • Offering reflective supervision to workers, both child focused and personal.
  • Supporting progression of your workers and tackling performance issues when needed.
  • Performance monitoring of your team through audit activity, reflective group supervision and quality assurance activity.
  • Undertake audit activity and disseminate identified learning.
  • Undertake practice development projects with those who use our services, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Attendance at relevant partner agency meetings and team manager meetings.
  • Being integral to establishing an effective Family Help team as well as implementing and supporting change within the team and offering a supportive and nurturing leadership style.
  • Chairing multi-agency meetings and making decisions linked to a thorough understanding of safeguarding thresholds.

About You

  • Hold a Social Work Degree/DIPSW or equivalent qualification and have at least four years post qualifying experience.
  • Be registered with Social Work England (Formerly HCPC) as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be experienced and expert in managing the delivery of quality outcomes for children and young people.
  • Have an ability to build strong relationships with children, their families, colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Be passionate about the development of others.
  • Embrace change and strive for excellent practice placing children and young people at the heart of decision making; you have experience of tackling the most complex needs with enthusiasm, drive, and determination.
  • Have experience and a strong understanding of relevant statutory and legal requirements to safeguard children and young people.
