The predicted salary is between 28142 - 31022 ÂŁ per year.

Salary: Band 7 SCPs 11-17 - ÂŁ28,142- ÂŁ31,022 pro rata. Permanent, 20 hours per week, based in SHMH. This role offers flexible working opportunities and is ideally suited to school hour working patterns. The postholder is expected to work approximately four hours per day, five days per week, typically during the middle of the day. Exact working hours will be agreed with the successful candidate. There will be occasional requirements to accompany the designated colleague to offsite activities, which may result in a longer working day. Any such occasions will always be planned and agreed in advance to ensure flexibility is maintained wherever possible.

This is a key role, providing tailored administrative and organisational support to a designated colleague with identified disabilities (neurodivergent and visual impairment), enabling them to fulfil their role. The designated colleague is employed as a Programme Data Manager, responsible for the provision and analysis of key Trust data sets and helping the Trust harness the data it possesses to accelerate service improvement by making intelligence-led decisions.

The designated colleague’s responsibilities span the breadth of the Trust’s activities and involve working with a wide range of key stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes supporting and interacting with Boards, Committees, Project teams and Working Groups in ways that meet their governance, reporting and compliance requirements, and that actions arising from these interactions are captured and progressed effectively. This role is critical in supporting the designated colleague to remain organised and effective within a fast-paced and continually evolving environment.

This will be delivered through routine activities such as daily check-ins, ongoing review and agreement of priorities, and ensuring that appropriate tools, systems and ways of working are in place and used efficiently. This may also include adopting a constructive “critical friend” approach to appropriately challenge priorities and working methods where required. The designated colleague is currently the Chair of the Trust’s Disability Staff Network and as such the role will include providing a limited number of hours supporting this work.

You’ll also:

  • Providing practical and impactful organisational support to ensure the designated worker is on track to deliver priorities.
  • Interacting with the designated worker’s electronic systems to review and influence priority considerations and put a plan in place for key deliverables each day.
  • In the context of supporting a disabled person, supporting the designated worker with issues they find difficult, overcoming barriers and ensuring that their needs are met through identifying and implementing creative solutions.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • The ability to organise complex priorities, information and systems.
  • A general understanding of, and willingness to learn more specifically about, the barriers that disabled people face in general employment.
  • Strong skills in the use of the full M365 suite, especially To Do, Planner, SharePoint and Teams, and ideally some awareness of assistive technology.
  • Resilient, robust, patient and with the ability to constructively challenge both the designated worker and colleagues on their behalf.
