About the Role
Our service is continuing to grow and are increasing our offer of support for families where children are at risk of being cared for outside of their family and are returning home after time living in care. As the Strengthening Families Outreach Team Manager, you will join an established team to oversee a team of Family Outreach Practitioners to provide positive, solution-focused and flexible team leadership, ensuring that support is offered that ensures measurable and improved outcomes for families, so that they can remain living together where it is safe to do so. Providing visible leadership to a team that seeks to continuously improve outcomes for the most vulnerable children and families across the Bradford District. Our approach is rooted in restorative and relational practice, fostering trust, mutual respect, and meaningful relationships with children, families, and professionals.
You’ll also:
- Ensure that all children and their families receive a timely response, and that the intervention offered meets their individual needs and is focused on positive outcomes for children, understood by their family and reviewed to show outcomes are improving.
- Provide regular reflective supervision in accordance with the Children’s Social Care supervision policy, including group supervision and annual appraisal of all staff and provide critical reflection, challenge and evidence-informed decision-making in complex situations for children and to support colleagues in developing these capabilities and finding their own solutions.
- Regularly review and evaluate each family’s support package to track progress and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
- Ensure that the voices and lived experiences of children, young people, families, and relevant partner agencies are central to all planning and review processes.
- Promote strong partnership working to deliver coordinated, effective support, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- Maintain accurate up to date and appropriate records using electronic systems and equipment in line with GDPR regulations.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A professional qualification related to childcare, youth work or social work (NNEB teaching certificate, CQSW, DipSW, Nursery Teaching Certificate, CSS, NVQ Level 4 or other relevant qualification).
- 4 years’ experience working in a relevant role is desirable and 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Substantial and recent experience of managing safeguarding thresholds and practice.
- Substantial and recent experience of managing staff and/or students working directly with children and families.
- Be able to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required by the needs of the service.
- Experience of liaising with other professionals and working as a part of multi-agency groups.
- The post holder is required to have a usable car available at all times or as advised by the line manager. The post is designated Casual Class 1 Car User status for the better performance of the duties for which the HMRC rate is payable.
