Fostering in Bradford is the largest fostering family in the district, supporting fostering families caring for local children. Join our dedicated Fostering Service as a Kinship Assessing Social Worker, where you’ll play a vital role in identifying and supporting family placements that help children thrive. Working within a specialist team, you’ll complete full kinship assessments following viability checks, ensuring timely and appropriate placements. This role suits a social worker with strong assessment skills, understanding of attachment and trauma, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and assess kinship placements and complete full kinship assessments following viability checks.
  • Collaborate within the Fostering Service to secure timely and appropriate placements for children in care.
  • Apply restorative and relational practice to build trust, mutual respect, and meaningful relationships with children, families, and professionals.
Qualifications
  • Have a Social Work Degree and be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Have a good working knowledge of fostering regulations, national minimum standards, and the SGO offer.
  • Have a sound knowledge and/or experience of therapeutic support for fostering families.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have sound safeguarding knowledge and experience.
  • Be able to make and maintain effective professional relationships.
