A respected Cheshire law firm is looking for a Legal Secretary to join its Private Client team in Macclesfield. You'll work alongside specialist fee earners across Wills, Probate, Estate Administration and LPAs, supporting a team known for the quality of its work and the care it shows clients at difficult moments.

The Role

  • Providing secretarial and administrative support to Private Client fee earners, producing accurate work in line with firm standards.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for new enquiries by phone and through the firm's website, handling clients with professionalism, empathy and discretion.
  • Managing file administration (paper and electronic), including opening, closing, storing and retrieving client records in line with internal procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Preparing and formatting legal documents including correspondence, forms, probate papers and Private Client documentation, with audio and copy typing to a high standard.
  • Supporting the progression of matters by understanding key legal timelines and procedural requirements.
  • Assisting with diary management, scheduling appointments, preparing meeting packs and coordinating client communications.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Administrator, ideally within a Private Client, Wills or Probate team.
  • Strong typing skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, with the confidence to manage a varied workload in a busy environment.
  • Proficient with case management systems, ideally P4W.
  • Professional, empathetic and client-focused, with the discretion that Private Client work demands.
