Bradford and Marsh are recruiting for an experienced Export Sea Freight Clerk to join a well-established shipping and logistics company based in East London. This is a fast-paced and varied role, ideal for someone with strong sea freight export experience who can confidently manage shipments from start to finish. You'll be working closely with customers, overseas agents, and hauliers worldwide, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and professionally. In addition to export responsibilities, you'll also support deep sea imports and short sea movements, making this a well-rounded position within a dynamic freight forwarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sea freight export shipments from start to finish
- Ensure all consignments are accurately entered onto the system prior to arrival and departure
- Liaise daily with customers, overseas agents, and hauliers
- Use internal systems effectively (CargoWise experience highly desirable)
- Support deep sea import and short sea shipments when required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service
- Keep customers informed of any delays or issues impacting shipments
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in freight forwarding
- Proven experience managing shipments end-to-end
- Strong knowledge of sea freight export procedures
- Familiarity with CargoWise (preferred)
- Good overall understanding of freight forwarding operations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work under pressure
