Freelance opportunity in Bradford 2025 as a Duty Event Manager to join our freelance database.

We are looking for freelance Duty Event and FOH Managers in Bradford/West Yorkshire who would be interested in hearing about freelance opportunities on projects throughout the year. We are particularly looking for Duty Gallery Invigilators to support a range of long-running temporary art exhibitions.

Key Skillset

  • Venue, Museum & Gallery, and Site management experience (particularly temporary spaces)
  • Event front of house, invigilator, visitor experience, or equivalent, experience
  • Volunteer management
  • Venue liaison
  • Contractor management (notably security and stewarding)
  • Understanding and implication of relevant health and safety measures
  • Stakeholder engagement (including project partners)
  • Understanding of applicable safeguarding implications
  • Preferably box-office experience
  • Preferably crowd management experience

Scope Of Work

The projects that require freelance Duty Event Management will range in event format scale, artform and shift lengths.

The likely scope of any project will include but not be limited to:

  • Oversee the safe and efficient running of public live events and exhibitions in permanent and temporary non-event venues, and remain on call as point of contact for full period of these durational live events and exhibitions
  • Undergo event team briefings, including to security and stewarding, volunteers, and possibly other freelancers or events partners
  • General cleaning and maintenance of exhibition and installation spaces as required
  • Management of contractors, staff and volunteers on site
  • Engage with Bradford 2025 audiences remaining approachable, professional and knowledgeable on key public-facing information
  • Oversee implementation of any accessible elements, such as setting up Relaxed Spaces, where applicable
  • Be responsible for keyholding duties where applicable
  • Manage all applicable duty health and safety implementations on sites based on risk assessments signed off by Bradford 2025
  • Undergo outlined checks on temporary structures or electrical items on sites where applicable
  • Oversee installation of any relevant site dressing signed off by Bradford 2025
  • Monitor event space running capacities and manage public evacuation procedures on sites where applicable
  • Complete event reports following each project event or session
  • Undergo training where required
