Bradfield College is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of its catering operations. You will help lead and develop the kitchen team, maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and health and safety, and contribute to menu planning, food production, stock control, cost management and waste reduction. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering consistently high-quality food and an excellent dining experience for students, staff and guests, while helping to foster a positive, professional and collaborative kitchen culture.
About you
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie or experience in an equivalent supervisory chef role
- Experience of working in a high-volume catering environment
- A proven ability to supervise, motivate and develop a kitchen team
- Experience of producing high-quality food across a range of service styles
- Experience of menu planning, food production, stock control and cost management
- Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and health and safety legislation
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail, a commitment to high standards and a flexible, can-do approach
