We are seeking an experienced and CAP‑qualified Powered Access Engineer to join our Darlington depot. You will carry out inspections, servicing, repairs, and LOLER examinations across a modern fleet of powered access equipment, ensuring machines are delivered to customers safely and in excellent working order. This role suits someone with strong technical ability, high safety standards, and a proactive approach to engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair powered access equipment (scissor lifts, booms, personnel lifts, tracked spiders).
- Complete LOLER examinations and maintain accurate inspection records.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults.
- Prepare machines for hire to meet company safety and quality standards.
- Attend customer sites for breakdowns and technical support.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in powered access, plant, or mechanical engineering.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel systems.
- LOLER inspection experience (additional training can be provided).
- Full UK driving licence.
