Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Senior Community Care Assistant to provide high-quality, person-centred care to service users in and around Swadlincote, while also supporting the wider community care team. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will not only deliver hands-on care but also help guide and support new members of staff, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care delivery in line with company policies and regulatory standards. This is a full-time position, and flexibility is essential. The successful candidate should be willing to pick up additional hours when required, support with on-call duties, and demonstrate a strong desire to progress within the company. Due to the nature of personal care and in line with genuine occupational requirements, this role is open to female applicants only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing care calls and delivering high-quality, person-centred care
  • Supporting service users with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Assisting with medication in line with training, competency, and company policies
  • Supporting with daily living tasks, meal preparation, and household duties
  • Acting as a mentor to new starters, completing spot checks and medication competencies
  • Assisting with initial assessments and care plan development (in line with role competency and management oversight)
  • Completing service user reviews and contributing to care plan updates
  • Ensuring all care documentation and records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with GDPR and company requirements
  • Using and supporting others with care technology and electronic care systems
  • Supporting with on-call duties where required
  • Reporting concerns in line with safeguarding procedures and company policy
  • Promoting independence, dignity, choice, and respect at all times

Pay and Benefits

Skills and Requirements

  • We are looking for a caring, reliable, and experienced individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting others:
  • Previous experience in a similar care role
  • Experience supporting or mentoring staff (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Local to the Swadlincote area with good knowledge of the surrounding area
  • Good IT skills and confidence using care technology
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and progress within the role
  • Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required
  • Right to work in the UK
