We are currently recruiting caring, reliable and committed individuals to join our growing team as Bank Community Care Assistants. Due to the nature of intimate personal care provided, this position is open to female applicants only, in accordance with the genuine occupational requirement provisions of the Equality Act 2010.

About the Role

As a Community Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals within their own homes. Every visit is an opportunity to make a real difference, helping people remain independent whilst receiving the support they need with dignity and respect. You will work as part of a supportive, professional team delivering care tailored to each individual's needs, preferences and lifestyle. This is a bank worker position offering flexible work according to business needs and your availability.

Work may be available across:

  • Mornings shifts
  • Teatime and evening shifts
  • Emergency cover calls where required
  • Short-notice and additional cover where available

Bank workers are not required to commit to fixed weekly hours. Shifts will be offered according to service requirements and, where possible, your stated availability.

  • Church Gresley

Where possible, care rounds are allocated geographically to minimise travel time and support a positive work-life balance. As Bradcare continues to grow, opportunities may become available across additional areas within South Derbyshire and neighbouring communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting
  • Supporting mobility, transfers and safe movement around the home
  • Assisting with medication administration in accordance with training and company procedures
  • Preparing meals and supporting nutrition and hydration
  • Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction
  • Supporting individuals living with dementia and other complex care needs
  • Carrying out light housekeeping and domestic duties
  • Maintaining accurate electronic care records in accordance with GDPR requirements
  • Reporting safeguarding concerns or changes in wellbeing promptly
  • Delivering care in line with individual care plans and Bradcare's quality standards

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Availability to work a mixture of mornings, lunchtimes, evenings and emergency cover calls, depending on service requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate, dependable and professional approach
  • A genuine passion for helping people live independently and with dignity

Previous care experience is welcomed but not essential. If you are new to care, full training, ongoing support and mentoring will be provided. We recruit for values, compassion and commitment as much as experience.

If you are relocating to the Swadlincote area from elsewhere within the UK, Bradcare may be able to support your move by offering:

  • Payment of up to one month's room rental in single occupancy accommodation (subject to agreed limits and availability)
