With over a decade of successful electrical contracting behind us, we are now rapidly expanding our mechanical division to provide fully integrated M&E solutions for our clients. We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Estimator to support the estimating team in preparing competitive tenders for mechanical installation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to develop within a growing company and gain hands‑on experience in mechanical building services estimating. You will work closely with our Mechanical Director, project managers and commercial team, learning the full tender process and contributing to the successful delivery of new projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of mechanical tender estimates for projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Performing material take‑offs and quantity take‑offs
  • Requesting and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Supporting the preparation of cost plans and tender submissions
  • Helping compile technical and commercial tender documentation
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Maintaining organised tender records and cost databases
  • Supporting the team with value engineering opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • An interest and some experience of mechanical building services (HVAC, plumbing, pipework etc.)
  • Some experience in estimating, construction, engineering or building services (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good IT skills (Excel essential)
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
